Frequently Asked Questions!

Find a jumper that fits you and lay it on a flat surface, then note down the following measurements:
From the underarm to the end of the arm;
From the back of the neck line, down the centre to the bottom;
Right across the chest from a line directly under each armpit;
Send me the measurements in cm or inches (but specify which you are using!).

If you can find something close in our shop, then note down the product number,
then use our contact us form to describe how you want the item modifying,
also include your measurements, so I can make it the right size for you.
If you can’t find anything here, but you can find something similar elsewhere online,
then send me the link to it. Or failing all else, just describe to me what you are after.

When you place an order for a bespoke item, I ask for a £10 deposit, then once the item is finished,
I will photograph it and if you are happy you then pay the balance and I will post it out to you
the next working day.

I prefer card payment when you place the order, as this is the least hassle for me! The company I use is called Stripe. I can also accept bank transfers (and cash if you are collecting). However, please do not send cash in the post. I do accept cheques anymore, sorry.

When you checkout your basket, you will be presented with several delivery options to choose from. The prices shown will depend on the item’s size and weight, and includes the cost of the packing materials. There will always be a local pickup option, so if you live nearby you can collect your item free of charge. Otherwise, any posted items are sent via insured, registered post to any UK mainland address. If you live further afield please get in touch first and I can give you options for delivery to where you live.

I hand knit everything myself, I do not have any other helpers, nor do I use a machine.
It’s all good old fashioned hand knitted like your granny used to do!

It depends on how big the item is! A cardigan for a new born would take me about a week,
a mans jumper might be two or three weeks. Something with an intricate design, e.g. writing
will take longer than a plain or regularly repeating item. When you place the order I will
advise on approximate timescales.

Whatever you want! Within the limits of what is possible with knitting needles and a ball of wool of course. Letters, or even words are possible. If you have a photo, a good approximation can often be knitted, especially for simpler designs. I cannot knit copyrighted images though. Get in touch and we can have a chat about what you want, I will have a good idea whether it’s possible or not.
